Hi! My name is Lorrinda Cerrutti and I teach Drawing, Painting, Studio Art I, Studio Art II and Honors Studio at Gloucester High School, just 35 miles northeast of Boston. I have been a teacher of Visual Arts for over 15 years. I tell people all the time that I have the best job in the world and I believe that to be true! I love teaching young people how to develop their VISUAL VOICE and use this voice to create art about issues that matter to them. Artists have been using this voice since the dawn of time. I strongly believe in teaching students about Art History and the connections and influences that artists and art has had on the world around them.
Making art is a process. The process comes easier to some students and can be more challenging to others. I believe that everyone can create quality art as long as they are committed. Hard work, passion and commitment are they keys to success. I firmly believe that having fun in daily sketchbook assignments not only improves your technique but builds your self-expression and strengthens your creative problem solving skills. You can see examples of my students self-expression, technique and creative solutions on this website. That's what this site is for. It's not about me, it's about them.
Enjoy their work! I am very proud of each and every one of my students. I am honored to be a part of their visual journey!
